![]() ![]() Eventually, in order for communication streaming to be successful between roaming mobile devices, such devices must be connected to the Internet currently through either Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) or Bluetooth, and may be easily extended to use other technologies such as WiMAX, GPRS, and 3G. ![]() To achieve this, the famous Jabber protocol was initially ported to mobile devices, and supporting functionality that monitors the roaming behavior of mobile devices was built as part of a framework and supporting library. The framework enables mobile devices to abstractly exchange streams of data using an underlying communication infrastructure, and also supports the continued connectivity of mobile devices as they roam into different physical locations. The main aim of this framework and library is to provide Java Micro Edition developers a powerful mechanism that facilitates the process of building communication capable mobile applications. ![]()
